Happy Canada Ducklings.

Canada Day,

It is my first day off in London Ontario and I have nothing to do! Sounds like a perfect opportunity for me to throw on my imitation superhero cape and rush off to the park for some photos. Please rest assured there was no cape wearing today, I was just trying to make my life sound more exciting than it really is today!

Friends had told me of Gibbons park which is nearby my hotel. I arrived in the baking Canada day heat of 34 degrees Celsius. Walking through the park immediately I was surrounded by Canadian geese. There was at least 30 of these guys waddling around plus ducklings! My rough guess is eight ducklings. I threw on my fancy Tamron lens and started my exploration.

Of course I took some photos of the geese, wandered along the shoreline of the Thames river and onto a hiking trail through the woods where I found beautiful scenery and a really creepy wooden shelter. I photographed everything and started to feel a little off from the heat by the time I turned to make my way back.

Before getting to my car I switched to a 35mm so I could get a shot of the gnarly trees near the entrance and made it to my car for a rest with the max a/c blasting for five minutes before I drove back to the hotel.

I'll head out again tonight. I don't know where. I've heard there are fireworks tonight at Harris park so that's a probable spot. I'll be sure to let you know!
