This evening's adventure was twofold. Eat lots of ribs and try the Tamron 70-200mm outdoors with some sports. I wanted to start off slow and easy so I found myself at a slow pitch game happening next to the Innisfil Rib Fest at the Innisfil recreation complex.
It was almost 5pm and Rib Fest was set to close at 6pm so I left my camera in my bag and dashed to the nearest vendor. Unfortunately the Rib Fest by this time had died down in it's final hours. This was a blessing for me because it made for short lines! Too keep things short, I over ate having a full rack followed by a third of a rack of ribs. Delicious! I'll throw in some photos of the overly large displays the vendors had set up. Also a photo of $10 root beer that I almost accidentally bought. No thank you! Too rich for my blood. I'm still paying for this lens!
Ribs done, hands washed, vendors photos taken. Time to hit the field. My trouble here was chain link fence everywhere. No way to get above it and wasn't planning to stay so I didn't approach a team to ask if I could join them in their dug out. Maybe if I try to do some ball photos in the future I'll ask a coach. My remaining option was to press my lens hood up against the chain link and hope for the best. As I chatted with the umpire between innings about the delicious ribs I had no idea the incredible, quality photos the Tamron was hammering out for me! If I had paid a little more attention to shot composition I could have rocked this game. I would say Tamron hit this out of the park, let me know if you agree!
Bored of fences and dying of heat with the humidity feeling like 37 degrees Celsius I decided to try another spot I had found on google maps that should make for great photos. The skate park!
Next time on the RPG... Queen's Park in Barrie, Ontraio.
