96.5 kilometers later...

The other day I looked at my Garmin vivoactive watch curious what my step count was. I'm averaging about 17k steps daily here in Vancouver and my weekly summary was up to 96.5 km in one week at one point! I have been on the move!

Instead of one specific day out I wanted to through up a few of the photos that didn't really fit into some of the other posts here.

Here you go, a few random shots just because! Enjoy!

Giants Mural

This is right on the water in downtown vancouver and is part of a Concrete plant.

Vancouver Harbour

Cool spot where I saw a Disney cruise ship the other day. Lots of seaplanes constantly taking flight to head who knows where!

Friendly T-Rex

Found this fella roaming Davies st during the pride celebrations.

Pride at Sunset Beach

Post pride celebrations at Sunset beach was a chance to rest and reflect for some. I really like that this is one of the first photos I really felt that reducing the clarity was a great addition to the photo.

Sunset Beach

I keep finding myself at this beach because there is just so much to shoot here. These rocks are placed all across the waterfront in Vancouver. Popular photo subjects!

Girl in Wet Suit

So this is in Stanley park. I was told she is a reply or the BC version of the little mermaid and this statue is called "Girl in a Wet Suit".

Craft Beer Market

I found this interesting because I don't normally do heavy edits to "people". I did more than my normal minimal to moderate edits and I tried to add a drama style filter to this shot. I found it an interesting moment. Like me, this guy is just enjoying Vancouver doing his thing. Mine thing is photography and his is music. Just a little moment of this man's life that I happened to be there for. I think that's kind of cool! We don't always appreciate those who pass through.

Science Center

I decided to share this photo because the ISO was so damn high on it. I shot at ISO2500 knowing it wouldn't be a sharp photo at all. This was really to see how much I could compensate for like. Hand held, ISO2500 at 70mm and shutter of 1/40 sec. Shows how incredible the image stabilization is on the Tamron 70-200mm G2.

Perspective

Interesting moment early in my trip with my first visit to Sunset beach. Love the focus point, the bicycle adding interest and the subject practicing a breathing exercise (maybe yoga or meditating) in front of the setting sun.

Sunset colors

More photos in Sunset Beach with the afterglow and great colors blazing through over the mountains.

Street Photography

Slowly becoming more comfortable with street photography however I haven't been using the 35mm as I think many others do. I've seen that some well known photographers will rely on auto settings and shoot from the hip. For now I still prefer to set everything manual however I am not normally fast enough to catch a candid moment walking past. For now I'll catch some small easy shots like this and see what catches my eye for an interesting photo. I like this one a lot if only because it reminds me of photos I've seen professional street photographers pull off.
